Runa reported adding more than 600 merchants to its gift card network during 2025 in a December 5 progress review that also covered prepaid cards, Pay to Card and payout administration. The company said customers had sent millions of payouts to recipients in 48 countries, with supermarkets, restaurants, travel, entertainment and home-related merchants among its leading categories.
The update highlighted its launch in India, with local payout choices including Flipkart, Myntra and BigBasket. Runa described that expansion as part of its gift card network rather than treating the whole Indian market as company transaction volume.
Runa also reviewed changes to Pay to Card and the introduction of reloadable virtual prepaid cards. It said repeat payout tokenisation could avoid recipients entering card details again, while reloadable cards supported recurring funding.
For businesses distributing gift cards, the company described Runa Shop as a way to create a branded marketplace without building the storefront from scratch. Its December account referenced access to more than 5,000 gift cards through that offering.
Other changes included translation across recipient journeys, low-balance notifications, foreign exchange estimates within ordering and self-service virtual account options. Runa also described order metadata and its Runa Assure fraud-detection infrastructure.
The company claimed that customers collectively saved more than $2 million in monthly foreign exchange fees through Runa FX. That was a company-reported monthly saving claim in the December update, not an audited annual total or revenue figure.
The article combined progress reported by December 5 with plans for further prepaid development in 2026. It did not represent a complete financial statement for the calendar year.
