Huuray has detailed its work managing IKEA Denmark’s business and consumer gift-card programme in a case study published on January 4, 2024. The account describes a combination of programme administration, corporate distribution and multiple delivery methods. [S01]

The geographic distinction is important. Managing the Danish programme is a different responsibility from distributing IKEA cards in other markets. Huuray separately says it acts as a B2B distribution partner for the brand in more than 15 countries; that does not establish a mandate to manage every national IKEA gift-card programme. [S01]

Administration

Approval, invoicing and billing processes.

Corporate access

An API connection for business gift-card buyers.

Delivery

Email, text message, post and file or API-based distribution.

The case study presents automation as a way to reduce manual handling. It does not publish measured processing times, implementation costs or a before-and-after sales result. Claims about improved efficiency should therefore be understood as the supplier’s explanation of the arrangement, rather than an independently measured return on investment. [S01]

Programme management and distribution

For a retailer, a corporate gift-card order is more than a consumer purchase at a larger quantity. Business buyers may need approval records, invoices and delivery into their own reward workflows. A programme operator’s work can extend well beyond making the card visible in a catalogue.

Distribution adds a separate route to demand. A retailer may reach employers, agencies or incentive platforms through a specialist network while retaining different operating arrangements by country. Treating those relationships as identical would obscure the commercial responsibilities involved.

The IKEA Denmark example puts those functions in the same case: local programme administration, access for corporate buyers and delivery into several channels. The evidence supports that description, without proving a particular increase in revenue or customer engagement.
