The Southern Conference has named TapNPay+ its official fan payment platform in a multi-year agreement that connects digital gift-card purchases with fan cash back and revenue for selected school programmes. [S01]
The conference announced the partnership October 9. TapNPay+ will work with member schools on programmes carrying their own branding, with campus planning meetings due to begin in the fall. The announcement does not establish that every school’s programme is already available.
Membership and gift-card purchases feed different revenue streams
TapNPay+ uses digital gift cards for purchases at more than 300 national brands, according to the conference’s description. Fans receive cash back while a portion of the activity supports the school or programme they select. [S01]
The release cites average instant cash back of 4% and says schools face no upfront cost. Those are platform claims described in the partnership announcement. The agreement’s school revenue share, fee schedule and precise duration are not disclosed, and the average does not promise the same return on every brand or purchase.
The operator’s general programme offer, inspected on October 19, adds another revenue mechanism: a $50 annual fan membership, of which it advertises $35 for the chosen programme, plus a separate share of purchases. Its fan-facing site describes a $50 annual membership supporting a selected student athlete. Neither page discloses the terms agreed with an individual Southern Conference school, so the figures below are not presented as that school’s signed contract. [S03] [S04]
