Active Junky launched a branded gift card and rewards hub powered by Tillo StoreFront on August 12, 2026. Members can buy discounted digital gift cards, earn cashback and, at selected retailers, redeem their rewards balance for gift cards with additional value.
The new hub, which sits alongside Active Junky's existing network of more than 3,000 retailers, offers members access to thousands of global gift card brands via Tillo. Members can browse, buy, earn, redeem, and gift digital gift cards from these brands without leaving the Active Junky experience. The hub extends member choice into categories where gift cards carry real weight for households, such as sporting goods, big-box retail, home improvement, dining, and grocery.
Storefront infrastructure and gift card supply
Tillo StoreFront supplies the gift card infrastructure behind the hub, including payments, ordering, fulfillment, inventory and merchant connections. Tillo presents the service as an alternative to Active Junky developing those functions and negotiating individual brand supply arrangements itself, work it describes as a potential multi-quarter project.
The launch was timed ahead of back-to-school and holiday shopping. At selected retailers, Active Junky said a $100 cashback balance could be redeemed for a $110 gift card. That example describes an eligible bonus-value redemption, rather than the rate available for every brand or payout method.
The storefront carries Active Junky’s branding while Tillo manages gift card supply and fulfillment. The companies describe it as part of the existing member experience, with scope to add further reward and shopping options.
Member redemption and payout choices
Active Junky members can access the new gift card hub directly inside their account, browse the gift card hub, buy discounted digital gift cards from participating brands, and earn cashback on those purchases as normal. When cashing out, members can choose from various payout methods, including ACH, PayPal, Venmo, check, eligible personal Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card, or redeem their balance for a gift card carrying additional bonus value at select retailers.
According to Alex Preece, CEO and Co-Founder at Tillo, the storefront solution allowed Active Junky to bring a powerful rewards and gift card experience to market quickly. Kevin McInerney, Founder and CEO at Active Junky, stated that the goal is to become the first place people check before making any meaningful purchase, and that partnering with Tillo gives members a smarter way to stack savings through cashback and discounted gift cards.
The companies reported early adoption and members choosing bonus-value redemptions, without publishing detailed adoption figures in the announcement. They also said they were exploring in-store and card-linked offers as possible extensions beyond online shopping.
