Paace announced a Tillo partnership on May 28, 2026, extending the ways users can redeem points earned by walking. The connection adds digital gift cards and offers from national brands to a proposition previously associated with local businesses. [S01]
Walking creates the earning event; it does not create money by itself. To understand the business decision, it is necessary to look at the parties funding the offers and at the reason a person would keep opening the app.
Walking rewards connect to merchant-funded referrals
Paace describes an app that tracks steps and lets users apply points to savings with businesses such as cafés, restaurants and fitness venues. Its partner terms position it as an intermediary that advertises and sells partners’ goods through the app. [S02] [S03]
The local-partner terms require offers discounted by at least 15% and list a monthly referral fee of 15p per customer for 0–50 referred customers, 12p for 51–100 and 10p for 101 or more. These are actual published volume bands for local partners. The text does not specify whether tiers apply progressively or to all customers in a band, so no total monthly bill is calculated. Nor is this a disclosure of the Tillo contract or each national-brand gift card's economics. [S03]
