Lawson has opened a route from loyalty points to digital content: customers can use Ponta points to buy physical Google Play gift cards in its Japanese stores. The service began on April 1, 2026, according to Blackhawk Network Japan’s subsequent announcement. Lawson published its own customer notice on April 28. [1] [2]

Card values and point payment limits

Lawson lists fixed Google Play cards of JPY 1,000, JPY 3,000, JPY 5,000, JPY 10,000 and JPY 20,000, plus a variable-value card from JPY 1,000 to JPY 50,000. The format ranges describe the cards available under the notice, not transaction volumes or the value a customer may pay entirely with points. [2]
